How much would a new york apartment cost?

The smallest thing out there. I don’t care if it has fucking roaches or whatever. I need something super small and cheap that isn’t in the ghetto (wherever that is). How much do you think I would have to pay? How much do you think I would have to make to live there? Thanks!
do you think I could get somthing for $500 a month?

The median NYC apartment is $650,000.
I own a luxury condo in Midtown and it was $1.7 million.

Good luck on finding something in the city for $500. The typical and median apartment rent for a NYC apartment is $2,000.

The only thing you will get with $500 a month is a 120 square foot apartment in the ghetto of Queens.

Is there anyone else a little obsessed with New York?

I’ve never been to New York but I’ve wanted to since I was little. I even began looking at apartments in my sophomore year of high school. Now I’ve begun reading and re-reading a New York Guide book. I know all the streets by heart and all of the neighborhoods. I’m a sophomore in College now and I live in Florida and can’t wait until I graduate from college so I can move there. Anyway I was wondering if anyone else is as a little obsessed as I am. I just wanted to know if there were any other NY lover’s like me out there.

yeah NY’s great, I’m flying over from Ireland in 10 hours… And staying for three months.,.,

I can’t understand how you live so close and yet you have never been… you should get a part time job, save up and visit for 2 weeks b4 you go back to college

How can I get a tour of the New York Times Company?

I’m 15 years old and want to pursue a career in news/investigative/features journalism. I am visiting New York City soon, and want to know if there is any possible way for me to get a tour of the place where they write/edit/print the paper. Also, are there any internships open for kids my age?

Call them or email them with the same things you just said above. Many companies provide tours of their production areas, but not their offices. You never know.

Where to practice driving in the Bronx?

My sister in law wants me to show her how to drive. Before driving in the streets I want her to get a feel for the car and get comfortable with it.
I am looking for a good place to practice in the Bronx area with a lot of open space and no traffic passing through (big parking lots that aren’t really used).
I am new to the area so not sure where to take her.
Any suggestions?

Any large parking lot, mall, in the country or store will do but remember that if your sister-in-law is unlicensed then she will be facing a very large fine and you as well can be fined as well if you are caught…

What is a broadway song that will show off my range?

I have a pretty wide range and I need a broadway female solo. Or one that can be sung by a female.

Think you have some pipes? Try the Broadway classic "No Business Like Show Business" I couldn’t think of a better tune to show off a great range or to show what you think of "The Business"

Be sure to watch the U-Tube vid.

What kind of money do succesfull clinical psychologists make in Manhattan and how many hours do they work?

I know that my fathers friend was able to buy a brown stone in Brooklyn for himself but he works constantly. What kind of money do successful clinical psychologists make in Manhattan?

To be considered seriously in that industry you most likely need at least an MA, but a PhD is probably the best thing to do.
One could either teach at a JC or college, or work in a company. Starting would probably be around 30k-50k (With bachlors) and then with a PhD most likely starting around 80-100k. After that the possibilities are endless.

Where can I buy a music box in Brooklyn?

I am looking to buy a music box as a wedding present for some friends. I am looking to spend around $100. I would like something unique and romantic, not touristy, kitschy or cliche. I’m looking for a place in Brooklyn or New York City where I can find such an object.

Tiffany’s or Macy’s.

I want to be the tour guide @ New York for my parents. I need to organize a 3 day tour. Where do I start?

I’m taking my parents to visit New York for the first time. I want to do it by myself… We are going to be there 3 entire days. I will like to take the bus and subway to see the important places in the City.. Will definitely go to see the Statue of Liberty in the ferry.. and also the wax museum.
Any suggestion how to organize my tour? We are on the ‘budget’, don’t want to hire a tour guide… We are staying close to Times Square. Not sure where to start… please any advise?

Here’s a good place to start plus all the tools you’ll need to organize your own tour. You can also save money on admission to just about everything (including the Statue of Liberty & Madame Tussauds Wax Museum). There’s also a page dedicated to free things to do in NYC. http://www.NYCtouristcenter.com

I’d personally devote one day in each part if NYC to save on travel time (uptown, downtown, midtown). For example, you could spend one entire day downtown, visiting the Statue of Liberty, Wall Street, Ground Zero, Chinatown, etc. and another day uptown (Central Park, museums, etc.) and one day in midtown (Empire State building, Times Square, etc.).

Also, pick up a metro card for each of you so you can ride the subways and buses as much as you need. Unfortunately, they don’t offer a three day pass, but you can buy a 7 day or 1 day unlimited fun pass and still save time & money. Here’s more info about metro cards (pricing, where to buy, etc.): http://www.mta.info/metrocard/mcgtreng.htm#unlimited

Good luck!
