Where to find a hotel in New York City?

I will be vacationing to New York city in the spring and would like to know what part of Manhattan to stay to be close to all the main attractions. I was looking at the Roosevelt Hotel. Is this hotel close to all the tourist attractions?

The Roosevelt is close to most of the attractions, including Times Square, Grand Central and the United Nations. Its a nice little hotel on the Madison Avenue in Midtown, Manhattan.

Good luck

Roosevelt is fine. It is in midtown over on the east side. Not everything in the city is in the same place. You want to be in the 50′s or 40′s, but you can get anywhere in the city very fast by cab or subway.. Don’t take the bus, trust me

Roosevelt Island is close, but not really in Manhattan. If you get a room in Midtown, you will be right in the middle of it all and most attractions will be walking distance.

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it’s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online… otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

I think you might lose count of the many hotels you can book in Manhattan. You can book at Days Hotel Broadway, The Lucerne and the Belnord Hotel, all on the Upper West Side. Two of my personal favorites located in Midtown Manhattan are Hotel Wellington and Hotel Pennsylvania, the latter of which has rooms priced at or under $100/night right now.

    Other notables:
Buckingham Hotel – Midtown West at 57th Street
    Skyline Hotel – Midtown West
Travel Inn Hotel – Midtown Manhattan
Best Western Hospitality House – Midtown East
The Shoreham – Midtown West, just off of Fifth Avenue
